| Janet as a young girl. |
I lost my mother, Janet, on September 30, 2012. She was 63 years old. She was my first love, my greatest supporter and most ardent defender, and my oldest, best friend. I'm scared of forgetting her. I'm worried that others will forget her. This blog is a place where I can keep her memory alive.
The name of the blog comes from the fact that I can relate just about any place, idea, or object to my Mom. She was the foundation from which all of my ideas and opinions grew. On this site, I plan to remember her through the things she loved (me, my Dad, Caribbean cruises), hated (bananas, cruelty, poor fashion sense), feared (change, losing my Dad, snakes), and revered (her physicians, the Long Island medium, her parents).

Although the blog is dedicated to my mother, I'm sure my father will be a frequent guest star. He died on November 27, 2009 from liver cancer. He and my mother were married for 38 years. My Mom never really adjusted to living life without her best friend, Kenny. I think at the end of her life she was eager to find him again. I hope that she did.

Along the way, I'll probably also talk a little about myself. I'm 35 years old. I live in Washington, DC with my wife and 2 dogs, Cricket and Isabella (she was my Mom's). I loved my parents completely and miss them terribly. I feel far too young to be an orphan, but I wouldn't trade my Mom or Dad for the world. If this is the price I have to pay to have known them, so be it.
Thanks for reading.
